About Us

Specifically for Youth Athletes

The KidSports training studio in Fountain Hills was designed specifically for the needs of young athletes and is not a membership facility. Every workout is designed, and supervised by experienced certified trainers who have coaching experience in the specific sport. All of the equipment in the training studio was selected for fit, compatibility and effectiveness for youth athletes.

Athletes can choose from individual workouts or small group workouts. There are no membership fees or monthly fees, athletes pay only for the workouts they attend.

All workouts are by appointment only. Advanced reservations are requested.

Specialized Services:

Video analysis of movement – Through the use of video taping and state of the art computer software, athletes can see their natural movement patterns (proprioception) and refine them to align with efficient models. The one thing most great athletes possess is efficiency of movement.

Sports Psychology – Many athletes learn the physical skills of a sport, but never learn to use their minds to achieve peak performance. Arousal regulation, concentration, relaxation, imagery, focus and goal setting all play an important role in achieving peak performance.

Youth Triathlon Training and Coaching – Home for the X-factor Junior Triathlon Club and Racing Team, this program is open to athletes ages 9 to 18. Athletes of all ability levels can train together and race at local events. There are multiple seasons and a summer camp during the year.

Gary Kida, Owner and Sports Performance Coach

Coach Kida has been specializing in coaching youth athletes for 28 years and holds certifications from the International Sports Sciences Association for specialization as a Youth Fitness Trainer, and the National Council of Strength and Fitness as a Personal Trainer. He is also a USA Triathlon Certified Coach.

The variety of team sports that Kida has coached at the high school, middle school and recreational level include cross country, baseball, basketball, soccer, roller hockey, triathlon and golf. In addition, he has coached individual athletes in golf, cross-country and triathlon. As an active participant in each sport, the knowledge and experience gained from the competition and coaching sides has allowed him to develop conditioning and training programs that provide the basis for enhancing performance and preventing injuries.

“I have a passion for coaching, which means that I have a passion for teaching. When I started coaching in my late teens, I found great enjoyment in teaching and helping younger athletes with their skills.

“But a greater calling was teaching them how to be better kids. I feel that today’s society is short on individuals who will take the time to guide our youth in the development of moral character, and reinforce society’s values of honesty, integrity, compassion, discipline and respect.

“I firmly believe that society has a responsibility to provide positive role models for its youth and my style of coaching blends sport specific skills with character development.

“My coaching philosophy is centered on the principle of helping youth athletes become peak performers, while stressing enjoyment from participation in the sport. I take great pride in my ability to guide athletes to achieve their personal goals. From my years of coaching youth athletes, utilizing innovative teaching methods, character building, and respect for my athletes have become hallmarks of my coaching methodology. Creating effective training programs is an art based on scientific knowledge and individualized to an athlete’s abilities and needs.

“I further recognize that athletes train for different reasons, and these reasons and motivation changes over time and therefore encourage open communication and welcome athletes to discuss their opinions about workouts and the focus of their training. In order to provide the highest quality of coaching, I believe in training an athlete’s physical and psychological abilities and can apply my creativity to developing workouts that are fun and effective.”
